Treeview problem

Product:ActiveGanttVB Scheduler Component
Framework:Visual Studio 6.0
User's Development Environment:Visual Basic 6.0
Subject:XTTreeviewVBCtl1 can not be loaded

This is a sequel to Bug Report ID 16:

It seems that the bug reported there is a Vista problem: when I try to load and execute the ActiveGantt VB6 demo under XP, everything works fine.

Doing the same thing under Windows Vista gives the above error ("XTTreeviewVBCtl1 can not be loaded"), and the program cannot be run.

Since we are continually switching our development machines to Vista (nobody wants to, but we have to...), I may ask: is there a way around that?

We've had some issues with Vista too. With ActiveGanttVBN when installed, the dll installed is the correct one: 2.7.3, and suddenly with no warning it gets changed to 2.6.4. Like there is a ghost of the 2.6.4 dll in the Vista Operating system somewhere. So what I recommend is the following:

Look for all ocurrences of ActiveGanttVB.ocx and XTTreeviewVB.ocx

Using the command prompt (Accesories -> Command Prompt), use the the regsvr32 command With the following syntax:

regsvr32 /u "(some Path)\ActiveGanttVB.ocx"
regsvr32 /u "(some Path)\XTTreeviewVB.ocx"

Erase all ocurrences of ActiveGanttVB.ocx and XTTreeviewVB.ocx from your drive. Also uninstall the ActiveGanttVB program from control panel -> uninstall a program. Download the version 2.7.3 from this location:

Trial Downloads

And reinstall version 2.7.3 making sure that you are installing version 2.7.3. The installer has the version in the initial dialog box like in the following picture:
