A Gantt Chart is a special type of diagram that can be used to represent and track a project's progress.
In ActiveGanttVBW, Task objects can be practically any length, or have the same start date and end date (which automatically makes them a Milestone object). Task objects can also be duration based.
The Treeview object can be used to display a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). The Node objects that make up the Treeview object can contain images and checkboxes. Text can be edited by the user.
ActiveGanttVBW has the possibility of linking Task and Milestone objects by using Predecessor objects. Predecessor objects can be Start-To-Finish, Finish-To-Start, Finish-To-Finish and Start-To-Start.
The Tooltip object can be customized entirely to display a Task object's Start Date and End Date as well as percent completed.
ActiveGanttVBW has Percentage objects that can be used to track the project's execution. Several Percentage objects can be assigned to any Task object.
ActiveGanttVBW can import data from Microsoft Project 2003, 2007 and 2010 XML Files.
ActiveGanttVBW can also be used as a Scheduling control:
You can use ActiveGanttVBW to build rosters, classroom scheduling, TV / Movie programming, equipment / location rental and many other applications.
You can use ActiveGanttVBW with Columns, Rows and Cells like in a spreadsheet application, while still retaining the Node object's characteristics. Node objects allow for the hierarchical representation of data and collapsing/expanding Row objects.
Cell, Row, and Column objects can contain pictures and text. The text can be edited by the user.
TimeBlock objects can highlight intervals of time, such as weekends. TimeBlock objects also have the ability to generate conflicts with Task and Milestone objects. TimeBlock objects can represent non-working time which will extend duration based Task objects.
Style objects can be applied to Task, Row, Column, Cell and other objects for a customized look.
